Hey gang, looking forward to seeing everyone this summer! Thanks to the committee for pulling everything together.
Here goes--20 years put into a few, short paragraphs.
One of my best decisions ever was getting married to Dawn (Williamson) in the summer of 1993. That same summer I graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Agronomy. I worked 8 years in the golf industry, having 2 children during that time. In 2001 the decision was made to change vocation and I became a pastor. In 2002 we had our 3rd child (and of course, I believe all 3 are great). I attended Liberty University for my masters and now Dawn and I (along with an incredible team) have started a new church in Cibolo called The Waters.
As a family we enjoy great outdoor adventures and have had the opportunity to travel all across America. We've had a great time camping all over the country as well as visiting various cities. My son and I also enjoy backpacking wilderness adventures--we find it refreshing to live in the forest for a week or so at a time. We find it equally refreshing to take a shower after that week!
Dawn is teaching Kindergarten in our local school district and the new church is doing quite well. Recently I had the opportunity to visit some orphanages in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (which our church may end up supporting). I also was given the opportunity to meet with and train some pastors in a rural, agricultural area in Kenya. I told Dawn that had we visited there 15 years ago, we'd be calling Kenya home!
While there are always life's ups and downs, overall the life Dawn and I have lead has been good. I will say one regret I have is allowing too much time to pass between visits with old friends. The reunion will be a great time to catch up with friends that I have missed.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
